The Embassy celebrated the 261st Nepali Army Day on March 7, 2024 at a special function organized at the Ambassador’s residence.
Addressing the function Ambassador Sridhar Khatri shed light on the history of Nepali army and ongoing military-to-military cooperation between Nepal and the United States of America. Ms. Lindsey Ford, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for South and Southeast Asia attended the function as the Chief Guest. Officials from the U.S. Army, Department of Defense, Department of State, Defense Attachés, Nepali Army Veterans in the United States of America and friends of Nepal, among others, were present on the occasion. Delivering the welcome remarks, Military Attaché, Col. Purna Prasad Dhakal highlighted the significance of Nepali Army Day.
