Ambassador H.E. Sridhar Khatri on 17th April, 2023 delivered an opening statement at the World Bank Conference on Nepal’s Green Resilient and Inclusive Development (GRID) initiatives at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Highlighting Nepal’s success stories in initiating GRID pathways including community forest program, earthquake reconstruction and COVID-19 vaccine rollout, Ambassador Khatri called for enhanced financial and technical support from the international development partners to implement its ambitious and inclusive sustainable development agenda. Delivering concluding remarks in the program, Finance Secretary Mr. Toyam Raya stressed on the need for enhanced investments from Nepal’s international development partners in the areas of sustainable infrastructure including hydropower, roads, water and irrigation. Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Mr. Shree Krishna Nepal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Forest and Environment Mr. Sindhu Prasad Dhungana, President of the Federation of Community Forest User Groups in Nepal (FECOFUN) and Member of Provincial Assembly of Bagmati Province Ms. Bharati Pathak, and President of Rural Reconstruction Nepal Mr. Arjun Karki participated in the conference as panelists and made presentations.
