Nepal Secures USD 150 Million CATDDO Agreement with World Bank to Bolster Disaster Response

On October 23rd, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Finance Hon. Bishnu Prasad Paudel had a meeting with Vice President (VP) of the World Bank Martin Raiser in Washington, D. C. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the Bank’s continued support for Nepal’s development endeavors in the priority sectors such as agriculture, energy, and irrigation, among others. He also stressed for simplified project development and implementation process for better and impactful results.
DPM Paudel and VP Raiser witnessed the signing of an agreement on CATDDO (stand by facility for disaster response) of USD 150 million for disaster financing. The agreement was signed by Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire and World Bank Country Director David Sisle.
