Vacancy Announcement Office Assistants-2 The Embassy of Nepal is seeking applications for the following vacant positions to be fulfilled on contract basis (extendable). The Embassy participated in ‘Passport DC Around the World Embassy Tour 2024’, an annual cultural event hosted by D.C. Events on the 4th of May 2024 at University of District of Columbia (UDC) in Washington, D.C. The Embassy thanks Himalayan Doko restaurant for offering the tastes of Nepali food, Xudu for showcasing Nepali handicraft products, and Janakpur Art and Craft
On 2nd May 2024, the Embassy, with the sponsorship of Mr. Susan Bradford, shipped 24 pieces of lost Nepali artifacts to Nepal from Hawaii. Second Secretary Uttam Ghimire received those artifacts from Ms. Bradford in Maui, Hawaii on April 19, 2024. The Embassy thanks Ms. Bradford for her partnership and support.
On the 30th April 2024, Ambassador Sridhar Khatri met with Deputy Director of Peace Corps David E. White Jr. at the Embassy and exchanged views on ongoing collaborations between the Government of Nepal and the Peace Corps. Their discussions touched on the longstanding involvement of the Peace Corps volunteers in Nepal’s socio-economic development, and the ongoing and potential areas of engagements in
Ambassador Sridhar Khatri met with Davis Albohm, Director of Global Partnerships at Stanford University’s Small-business Education and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) program and discussed about the unique opportunities offered by the Stanford SEED program for the business and leadership growth of Nepal’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). They also discussed the prospects for economic growth and job creation through empowering entrepreneurs in Nepal.
The Embassy thanks and appreciates US Government and its various agencies for sending out a video message encouraging American businesses to invest in Nepal in the context of the recently held Third Nepal Investment Summit in Kathmandu.
On 29th April 2024, Ambassador Khatri interacted with a cohort of Nepali Fulbright scholars currently pursuing studies at Georgetown University and San Jose State University on topics including the Embassy’s ongoing initiatives in economic diplomacy, state of Nepal-US relations, and the important role the US-educated Nepalis could play in the overall development efforts of Nepal.
