Ambassador H.E. Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada held a virtual meeting with Ms. Laura Stone, Deputy Assistant Secretary at the US State Department on May 21, 2021 and discussed Nepal’s request for supply of COVID-19 vaccines and critically needed essential medical items prioritized by the Government of Nepal to fight the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Nepal. He appreciated the generous US support to Nepal to fight the ongoing pandemic and expressed the hope that as a close and long-standing friend of Nepal the United States would continue extending critically needed medical supplies in the face of the unprecedented humanitarian situation created by the ongoing pandemic in Nepal.
