The Embassy of Nepal in Washington, D.C. hosted a reception this evening to celebrate Constitution Day and the National Day of Nepal.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Sridhar Khatri extended greetings and best wishes to the members of the Nepali community and friends of Nepal in the United States. The Ambassador highlighted the progress Nepal has made since the promulgation of the Constitution in 2015, particularly in strengthening its inclusive democracy and achieving economic transformation. He thanked the United States for being a reliable development partner and a close friend of Nepal in its endeavors for socio-economic development.
Also speaking on the occasion Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of State Ms. Afreen Akhter expressed that the United States will continue its longstanding partnership for a prosperous and democratic Nepal.
A total of 250 guests, including CEO of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Ms. Alice Albright, Senior Director at National Security Council at the White House Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher, Deputy Assistant Administrator at the USAID Ms. Anjali Kaur, Deputy Vice President at MCC Jonathan Brooks, members of the diplomatic community, business leaders, media persons and members of Nepali community were among the guests who attended the ceremony.
