At the welcome program hosted by NESA for the delegation on the 9th of April, Ambassador Khatri appreciated the continued exchanges between the Nepali and US security and strategic academies and institutions such as the NESA and APCSS. Just as the APCSS had played a crucial role in strengthening civil-military relations after the end of the insurgency in Nepal, he said that the Government of Nepal was hopeful that NESA could use its expertise, together with other institutions in the US, to partner with Nepal NDU team for academic excellence by focusing on its faculty development, curriculum development, and academic accreditation. On the occasion, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Programs and Operations in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, State Department, Rachel Schiller said that the US State Department and Department of Defense is willing to assist Nepal in developing a strong NDU, including its curriculum.
