Tourist Visa


Before submitting your application through mail or drop off, you must first submit your details HERE and continue below for the application process. We will return back your application if we do not receive your details.

Please read and follow below instruction carefully before submitting your Tourist Visa Application:

      • Actual Passport with at least 6 months of validity and a copy of Passport ID page.
      • Passport must contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
      • One recent passport-size photograph. (Photo must be Glued on the top right of an Application Form)
      • Duly filled in and signed visa application form.
      • Money Order or Cashier’s Cheque.
      • Pre-paid return Envelope with Tracking number. (Not required for pick up)
      • Submit above documents through mail or drop off .

    • Actual Travel Document with at least 6 months of validity and a copy of Travel Document ID page.
    • Travel Document must contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
    • One recent passport-size photograph. (Photo must be Glued on the top right of an Application Form)
    • Duly filled in and signed visa application Form.
    • Money Order or Cashier’s Cheque.
    • Pre-paid return Envelope with Tracking number. (Not required for pick up)
    • Submit above documents through mail or drop off.

 Visa will not be issued to Nepali/Indian National

    • Actual Travel Document with at least 6 months of validity and a copy of Travel Document ID page.
    • Travel Document must contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
    • One recent passport-size photograph. (Photo must be Glued on the top right of an Application Form)
    • Duly filled in and signed visa application Form.
    • Money Order or Cashier’s Cheque.
    • Sponsorship Letter from Nepali Citizen. (Download Sponsorship letter HERE)
    • A copy of the citizenship certificate of the sponsor.
    • Pre-paid return Envelope with Tracking number. (Not required for pick up)
    • Submit above documents through mail or drop off.

 Visa will not be issued to Nepali/Indian National

Visa Fees:

Fees must be in the form of Money Order or Cashier’s Cheque Only with at least one year’s validity period payable to the Embassy of Nepal, with the full name and address of the applicant written on it.

15 days Multiple Entry Visa     $ 30/-

30 days Multiple Entry Visa     $ 50/-

90 days Multiple Entry Visa     $ 125/-

Note: Children below 10 years other than the U.S. Passport or Travel Document holder do not required Visa Fee.

Note: The Embassy will not be responsible for the loss and damage of any documents while Toing and Froing, any undelivered passports because of insufficient postage, a weak envelope to bear up the load and other incidents occurred during handling of the documents by postal office/courier.

Application Procedure:

Applicant can submit or mail documents for Tourist Visa Application to the Embassy. You will be notified by email and text whenever there’s an update for your visa application.

Processing Time: Four business days.

Note: Submitted application will be returned back immediately, if we do not receive a complete documents mentioned above.

Points to be remember while applying for Tourist Visa:

  1. Visa once issued cannot be withdrawn and visa fee cannot be refunded. It must be used within 6 months from the date of issue.
  2. Tourist carrying more than 5000.00 US Dollars or equivalent foreign currency is requested to declare in the Custom Declaration Form at the time of arrival in Nepal. Those returning from Nepal with undeclared money exceeding US Dollars 5000.00 or equivalent currency may be interrogated for further legal actions in accordance with Foreign Exchange Regulations Act of Nepal.
  3. Tourist traveling by car should possess a valid Passage de Carnet.
  4. Tourist Visa may also be obtained at any of the following entry points:
    1. Tribhuvan International Airprot, Kathmandu.
    2. Immigration Offices along Nepal-India border ( Birgunj, Parsa, Balahia, Bhairahawa, Jamunaha, Nepalgunj, Mohana, Dhangadi, Gaddachaudki, Mahendranagar and Kakarbhitta, Jhapa ).
    3. Immigration Office along Nepal-China border (Kodari, Sindhupalchok).
  5. Immigration Office, Pokhara (not the entry point)
  6. Tourist visa for Nepal can also be obtained from the Consulate General of Nepal in New York and the Honorary Nepali Consulate General in Chicago.
