Vacancy Announcement for the position of Social Secretary-1 and Office Assistants-2

The Embassy of Nepal is seeking applications for the following vacant positions to be fulfilled on a contract basis (extendable). All interested individuals are requested to send their application ti apply@nepalembassyusa.org no later than January 11, 2024.
1. Social Secretary
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Schedule and manage appointments for the Ambassador.
2. Provide proactive, cordial, and gracious responses to telephone or written inquiries and other
communication destined to the Ambassador’s official telephone and official email address.
3. Collate information and prepare preliminary report/briefs on major political and socio-economic
developments in the US and around the world.
4. Provide advice and services on matters of U.S. protocol.
5. Accord necessary support and assistance to the Diplomatic Staff of the Mission in planning,
managing and executing events approved by the Mission.
6. as per their instruction, assist diplomatic staff in discharging their respective duties, as and when
necessary.
7. Plan and execute all social events at the Ambassador’s Residence.
8. All other secretarial tasks as per the rules and regulations of the Embassy.
- Skills and Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in International Relations, Public Administration or Government
Affairs) - Preferably two years of work Experience
- Have good public relations and media relations skills
- Fluent in the English language (both written and spoken)
- Writing reports
- Event management
- Basic IT skills (website management and networking)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interest and willingness to share knowledge with- and learn from- colleagues
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in International Relations, Public Administration or Government

Office Assistant
- Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Handle telephone inquiries.
2. Facilitate visitors coming to the Embassy for various consular services.
3. Handle incoming and outgoing mails and parcels.
4. Process consular applications as assigned by the Embassy.
5. Perform other tasks related to the Embassy as assigned by the supervisor. - Skills and Qualification:
1. High School Diploma
2. Preferably two years of work experience
3. Have a good public relations skills
4. Fluent in English language. (Nepali language will be an advantage)
5. Basic knowledge of MS Office
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
7. Strong interest and willingness to share knowledge with- and learn from- colleagues - Documents Required:
