The Embassy congratulates Mr. Saurav Rimal for being honored with the 2023 Alumni Impact Award by the United States Department of State. This prestigious accolade was formally presented to Mr. Rimal by Mr. David Kennedy, the Chief Officer of Citizen Exchanges at the US State Department.
Mr. Rimal met with Ambassador Sridhar Khatri on 9 October 2023, where he briefed the Ambassador about his contributions through the Karmayog Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization committed to “selfless service to the helpless” in remote areas of Nepal. Among his philanthropic works, Mr. Rimal and his dedicated team of volunteers provided sustenance to many stray animals such as cows, dogs and monkeys in the Kathmandu Valley during the COVID pandemic. He also collaborated with Smile Nepal to distribute relief packages to many people severely affected by the pandemic.
In recognition of his outstanding dedication to social work, Mr. Rimal was awarded the Samaj Sewa Ratna medal in 2022 by the President of Nepal.
