Nepali Delegation holds meetings with World Bank on upcoming Country Partnership Framework and financing for Upper Arun Hydroelectric Project

From October 19 – 20, the Nepali delegation, led by Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Pushkar, held a series of meetings at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D. C., mainly focusing on the current portfolio review of World Bank-funded projects in Nepal, financing for pipeline projects including the Upper Arun Hydroelectric Project, and the upcoming country partnership framework, among others. The other members of the Nepali delegation included Energy Secretary Dinesh Ghimire, Ambassador Sridhar Khatri, and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Shree Krishna Nepal.

During the meeting related to the upcoming country partnership framework, Ambassador Khatri shed light on the importance of regional cooperation for shared prosperity in the South Asia region, while reiterating the need for enhanced investment in the IT sector of Nepal.
